Participants

In the participants subsection of a report you should: (1) state the population from which the sample is drawn and how you chose the sample, (2) describe the sample in terms of the number recruited, age range, mean age, male/female ratio, and how participants were allocated to conditions, and (3) describe the sample using other statistics if necessary, depending on the nature of the study.

Remember that people who participate in research are referred to as participants and not subjects. Use subjects when referring to nonhuman animals in an experiment.
