Design: The Dependent Variable

In this section you should enter the details of the dependent variable you used in your study. The text you enter will be used for suggested titles, and will also be automatically inserted into the abstract and results sections of the draft report.

Data to Enter

Name
Enter a brief name for the dependent variable. This text will be used in the results section and in suggested titles. The name could give an indication of the psychological construct involved.

Examples:
reaction time
response latency
recall for peripheral details
recognition of previously seen words
problem solving

Scale
Enter the scale of the dependent variable. This text will be used in the results section.

Examples:
ms
items
words
the number of problems solved

Method of measurement
Enter a short, more formal, description of the dependent variable. This text will be used in the results section and in suggested titles.

Examples:
response latency to a visual target
the number of peripheral items recalled correctly
the number of words correctly recognised
the number of story-like maths problems solved
