One Variable Chi-square

In this example, participants who claim to be addicted to caffeinated were given samples of coffee to drink, that varied only in the amount of caffeine they contained. To present the analysis, select 'One variable Chi-square test' and choose brand of coffee as the variable for analysis. Enter the significance level of the analysis, by either entering the p value or by choosing one of the buttons, from 'p > .05' to 'p < .001'. Click 'Next'.

Enter the observed counts in each of the cells - long cell lables may not be fully visible; but the column widths can be changed by dragging their border:

When you select 'Save and Preview' you can see the textual description of the analysis that LabWriteUp generates:

You can also plot a histogram of the frequencies:

Next >> 2 x 2 Chi-square

A one variable Chi-square test is also known as a goodness-of-fit test. It is used for nominal data, such as frequencies.
