Author Details

Research reports, including student projects and dissertations, typically begin with details about the author. You can provide the following information:

Your department or college affiliation. State the name of the department, the faculty, and the college or university, including the postal address.

Financial support or purpose of report. If you have received financial backing, in the way of a grant or sponsorship, give details of that here. Student reports will not have recieved a grant specifically for the project and are done as coursework. Here state which course the work is done for (e.g., "This work was carried in partial fulfillment of the course PS123 Psychological Research Methods").

Acknowledgements. Acknowledge any contributions towards this research, such as the work of research assistants, supervisors, and any advice or opinion sought for this research. Students often thank specific friends and/or members of their family for moral support.

Contact details for further information. Manuscripts submitted to a journal or other publication enter their full contact details, including an email address (for the main or nominated author). If this is a student project this is not usually necessary, however you could enter your student ID here.

Save the details in a file. You can save all of these author details in its own file, so that you can reuse the details for a different report.
